Vegan lip balm recipe
To make a vegan lip balm, you will need to substitute beeswax for a plant-based wax such as soy, carnauba or candelilla wax. You can combine this with coconut oil to give your lips nourishment, and you can increase the shininess of the balm by increasing the amount of coconut oil.
Including your essential oils at this point will give them a great scent and flavour but will also help to make your lips healthier and better protected. Oils such as carrot seed can offer a small amount of skin protection, vitamin E helps with healthy-aging, chamomile soothes, and almond oil replenishes moisture.
Vegan lip balms don’t have to be boring either. You can still add a lovely tint to them by using dried raspberry, clay or beetroot powder to create a hint of blush. Lip balms are lovely to use or to give as gifts, and one recipe can make plenty of beautiful, fresh lip balm that will save you money as well as making your lips appear plump, hydrated and completely kissable.
