Whether you’ve heard of it before or it’s the first time you’ve ever come across it, you’ve got to find out more about this up and coming supplement.
Boasting a wide range of health benefits, with the clinical studies to back it up, discover more about Zynamite® in this article.
Before we dive into the benefits, it’s worth us explaining what Zynamite® actually is. Our very own experts here at H&B gave us the low down:
“Zynamite® is a clinically studied mango leaf extract that has been shown to inhibit the action of an enzyme called COMT (catechol-o-methyl transferase). COMT is an enzyme that breaks down certain neurotransmitters like dopamine and adrenaline.”
Wondering what makes Zynamite® so special? Our experts kindly explained just some of the benefits it has been shown to offer:
“Zynamite® has been shown to activate brain waves and activate long-term potentiation (this strengthens connections between our synapses), increasing alertness and mental energy, while also increasing physical performance measures like power output & oxygen uptake.”
Find out more about these impressive health benefits below.
A study from 2020 published in the Nutrients journal explored the effects of mango leaf extract to assess it’s impact on certain areas of cognitive function.
They concluded that it had striking benefits on improving attention, which in turn also helped to improve information retrieval.1
Another way in which Zynamite® may be beneficial for your cognitive health is by improving your reaction time.
In fact, one clinical study from 2020 published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology highlighted that it seemed to cause significant changes in brain electrical activity during the challenges that were set, and therefore reaction time was improved in all participant groups!2
The same study that we mentioned above also found another benefit of Zynamite®, reducing fatigue.
The researchers then concluded that the benefits found in this study supported the traditional use of mango leaf tea for fatigue and exhaustion.3
For the fitness fans and sports enthusiasts, you’ll like this one. Zynamite® has been shown to improve sports performance in a range of different ways.
For example, a particular study from 2019 found that when combined with quercetin, and taken an hour before exercising, mango leaf extract improves repeated-sprint related performance as well as muscle oxygen extraction and mitochondrial oxygen.4
But that’s not all. A different 2019 study found that both short term and long term Zynamite® supplementation, when combined with luteolin, enhanced performance, muscle oxygen extraction, and brain oxygenation during sprint exercise.5
Otherwise known as lactic acid, lactate is something that can build up during exercise often causing that burning feeling when you’re actively using your muscles.
Interestingly, studies have shown that taking Zynamite® with quercetin resulted in 5.9% lower blood lactate levels.6
Another clinically proved benefit of mango lea extract is its effect on our pain reception. Both male and female participants ran a 10km race and performed 100 drop jumps afterwards.
The researchers concluded that taking a Zynamite® and quercetin supplement an hour before exercise lessened muscle pain and damage.7
Our last benefit of Zynamite® is another exercise-related one.
Similar to the other studies we’ve referenced, another one highlighted that taking a Zynamite® supplement with added quercetin one hour before exercise (plus another three doses every eight hours) accelerates the recovery of your muscles.8
Most of the studies we’ve referenced in this article have attributed the benefits of Zynamite® to a 140mg dose, with some using 140mg of quercetin as well.
Modern usage of Zynamite® usually involves taking it in a supplement form, in capsules. However, mango leaves have traditionally been used by brewing it into a tea.
The studies we’ve been referring to also recommend to take it an hour before exercise if you’re planning on using it for sports related benefits.
A 2020 study noted that Zynamite® isn’t associated with any harmful effects.9 One particular study that we’ve mentioned already highlighted that it doesn’t have any affect on blood pressure or heart rate, unlike some other sports or energy related supplements.10
Pretty impressive right? Zynamite® offers a wide range of benefits, from sports performance to cognitive function – all without any unpleasant side effects.
